What is the AOPA K-12 5G STEM Course?

Unique approach to STEM learning: 

We have integrated our 5G solutions into K12 learning. Students will be able to control the DJI mini drone not only through remote control, but also via our 5G ground station, allowing students to learn about 5G networks. 

We will be using DJI mini drones, our own 5G dual-network and dual-control drones, YK low-altitude intelligent management, and control cloud platform for learning: this is  the only K12-5G drone solution currently available in the world.

This course also includes a lesson on our AI robot dog. Advanced learners can use C, python and block coding to control the robot dog, but it also has ChatGPT API integration for assisted learning. For students who aren’t as familiar with coding, this means that they can speak to it (eg. walk forward 10 steps) and ChatGPT will turn that into code on a laptop, enabling them to learn through that. The robot dog is a great way to keep students engaged in a fun way. 

Furthermore, this course includes learning how to code and control a whole group of drones via QR code mat. Students will learn how to make patterns and code formations/performances for up to 30 drones.

The Course Package Includes:

  1. A set of DJI mini 5G dual-network (simulated) dual-control drone (for class use only) and YK low-altitude intelligent management and control cloud platform;
  2. A set of FM-4WING/FM-4CLIP formation aircraft (for class use only) and simulation. Students will learn to program light shows. In the past, we had students who put on a 10-drone light show to represent their school’s 3 English letters upon graduation;
  3. A total of 10 45-minute lessons, 2 lessons each, 12 students per class, original price HK$60,000 (equivalent to GBP 6,000). The first introductory lesson features drone lighting and a mechanical dog show;
  4. 12 sets of CLIP solo drones, including take-off and landing airport mats and obstacle rings for examination (applicable to China AOPA official certification examination), original price HK$9000 (equivalent to GBP 900);
  5. Students will take the China AOPA officially certified student pilot course and mock exam (official exam and certificate fees included), original price HK$72,000 (Equivalent to GBP 7,200);
  6. Students will receive the K12-5G drone first flight certificate.

All our STEAM senior instructors are China AOPA qualified, and all pyrotechnics technicians hold Hong Kong TELA licenses.

AOPA (China) is an organization under the Civil Aviation Administration of China, responsible for the examination, certification and management of educational drone instructors and pilots across the country. Our company 5GNU is the exclusive examination center and agent in Hong Kong. 

As AOPA (China)’s exclusive agent, our K-12 5G drone courses have won its approval. Our “steam to pro” pathway encapsulates drone courses that teach and award certificates to students from a primary school level and support and train them all the way to a professional adult level.
